Reliable Lighthouse Light - Light Chocolate Malt
More bitter, honey-like accents than caramalt, with coffee, coco-like tones. We produce this malt at our Pauls Malt Ltd. plant in Knapton, North Yorkshire, UK. Light chocolate malt is produced by roasting kiln dried malt to temperatures of up to 220°C. Water is used to extend the roasting time and for quenching and cooling at the end of a roast to prevent combustion. Shorter roasting time to regular chocolate.
Prairie Malt
Every Prairie Malt malt is produced in Biggar, Saskatchewan, where barley is synonymous with the landscape, the local economy and the culture of the region. We source CMBTC (Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre) approved barley varieties like CDC Copeland, AAC Synergy, AAC Connect and CDC Fraser to produce all of our malts.

For best results, store your malted grains in a dry, climate-controlled environment with temperatures in the range of 50°F to 70°F. Transfer any unused grain into a sealed, airtight container to preserve freshness and prevent contamination. You can store uncrushed grain for up to a year under these conditions.
We recommend that all product that is received as milled or crushed directly by us at Prairie Malt be used within 30 days of receipt.
